William is a retired civil servant, labor leader and social activist. He is enthusiastic about improving democratic institutions at the community level to promote social justice and reduce income inequality in underserved communities. He holds a MA in Behavioral Science from CSU, Dominquez Hills and BA in Political Science from CSU, Fullerton.
William is a committed philanthropist, supplying significant help in support of social welfare education, adult learning and encouragement to students who are the first in their family to attend a university. During his working career, William served as the Revenue Supervisor for the City of Norwalk, California as well as President of the Norwalk City Employees Association (IAM Local Lodge 1957). He is currently a mentor to three graduate students focusing on career advice, resilience skills and political advocacy training and teaches a retirement course in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSU, Fullerton. He enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his wife Mary Ann and their two rescue pups Bonnie and Clyde.
