Summer Sessions

Experience Summer at Berkeley Social Welfare

Berkeley Summer Sessions enrollment is open to everyone!

Take elective courses to introduce you to the field of social work, or to create more flexibility in your schedule during the regular academic sessions. Undergraduate declared Social Welfare majors at UCB may also take one or more core classes required for the BASW. Graduate students, professionals and alumni can also take courses for licensure requirements, professional development, or to advance in your career all while earning Berkeley academic credit!

This summer we are offering classes in data science and social welfare, substance abuse treatment, human sexuality and social work, and more!

2019 Post-Master's PPSC Program for School Social Work Credentialing

Berkeley Social Welfare offers a curriculum in school social work practice, leading to eligibility for a recommendation from the School for the Pupil Personnel Services Credentials (PPSC) issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

A Post-Master's PPSC Program option is offered in the summer for social work professionals who already hold the Master’s in Social Work (MSW) degree from a graduate program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Post-MSW PPSC Program candidates complete the two required courses in the summer through Berkeley Summer Sessions. Please be aware that no transfer credit or course waivers are accepted for the Post-MSW PPSC Program at Berkeley.
