The Undergraduate Honors Program in Social Welfare (also known as "departmental honors" or "honors in the major") provides an opportunity for qualified undergraduate majors in Social Welfare to study a topic of interest in depth and write a thesis on this topic. Designated Emphases

Social Welfare PhD students have the opportunity to apply to a Designated Emphasis (DE) program that complements their doctoral studies. This is a chance for students to collaborate with faculty from other departments who specialize in the chosen DE area. Students should consult with their faculty advisor to discuss their decision to add a DE prior to forming their Qualifying Exam Committee.
