Sylvia Gin (she/they) is the newest member of the Student Services Team, serving as the Recruitment and Career Services Specialist. In this role, Sylvia will focus on implementing recruitment strategies, representing the school at events, and developing career programming to support students as they navigate their path to employment.
A recent alumni of UC Berkeley, Sylvia holds both a Master of Social Welfare (MSW) and a Master of Public Health (MPH), with concentrations in Strengthening Children, Youth, and Families, and Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health. She is a first-generation college graduate, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Education from San Francisco State University in 2018. Sylvia has lived in the Bay Area for the past decade, though she was born in Santa Clara and raised in Sacramento. She is multiracial, queer, and the eldest of four siblings. Passionate about creating inclusive spaces for all students, Sylvia focuses on equitable access to resources for historically marginalized groups.
In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Sylvia is a certified yoga instructor with a passion for holistic health and mindfulness. She aims to integrate these values into both her role and daily life, continuing to work toward her goal of supporting transformation towards a healthier, more just world.
