Emiko Moran is the Department Manager at Berkeley Social Welfare. She began her career at Berkeley with the department in 2016, and went on to spend several years serving other campus units before returning to Social Welfare in her current role in 2021. Growing up in Berkeley with a parent who was a public school teacher, Emiko has always been a passionate believer in public education and advocate for social justice. She also has deep UC Berkeley roots, going back to her grandparents on one side—her grandmother was a Berkeley Social Welfare alum—and back to her great-grandparents on the other side.
Emiko holds a BA in Communications with minors in Professional Writing for Civic Engagement and Philosophy from UC Santa Barbara. She enjoys traveling, antiquing, crafting, and spending time outdoors.
