The Latino Social Workers Organization (LSWO) is a leader of providing continuing education, focused on social work practice with Latinos. For more than 20 years, the LSWO has been working with social work professionals, social work students and social work faculty to increase networking and continuing education. The LSWO has been consistent in providing quality continuing education through partnerships with schools of social work and social work programs. The 2017 conference is in collaboration with University of California, Berkeley School of Social Welfare. We appreciate the support of Dean Jeffrey Edleson and Professor Kurt Organista for bringing this one-day conference to California.

Since the election, social workers have been contacting the LSWO regarding the need for us to “ network, share, learn and advocate.” Social workers are looking forward to this conference so they can share their experiences about the inauguration of President-Elect Trump.

Volunteer Opportunity for Berkeley Social Welfare Students
The Latino Social Workers Organization (LSWO)  and Berkeley Social Welfare are in need of student volunteers for the LSWO 2017 Social Work Conference taking place on the UC Berkeley campus on March 27, 2017. This will be a full-day conference, and volunteers are needed to greet/guide guests, monitor workshop rooms and provide support to the registration desk. This is a great opportunity to network with professionals and faculty who will be attending this conference as well an opportunity to increase your knowledge and awareness of social work practice in Latino communities.
