Prof. Kurt Organista Awarded Chancellor's Fellowship

August 24, 2018

In recognition of exemplary research that focuses on psychosocial problems within the Chicano and Latino communities, Professor Kurt Organista has been selected for the Chancellor’s Public Scholar Faculty Fellowship. This Fellowship provides seed funding to create new knowledge that has an impact both in the community and the academy, plus additional funding to support a graduate researcher.

Professor Organista has been featured on KGO-TV’s “Beyond the Headlines Show” to discuss HIV prevention among Latinos, regularly teaches courses on social problems and psychopathology, stress and coping and social work practice with Latino populations, and is active with the Latinx Center for Excellence in Social Work.

Professor Organista will present an artifact that incorporates his new ideas in late Fall 2018.
