Eliminating fees in the Alameda County juvenile justice system meaningfully reduced financial burdens on families

New research by Jaclyn Chambers, Karin Martin, and Jen Skeem shows that when Alameda County eliminated fees from its juvenile justice system in 2016, it dramatically reduced the likelihood and the amount of financial sanctions levied against families.
