UC Berkeley School of Public Health Professor of Community Health and Human Development and Berkeley Social Welfare affiliated faculty member Emily Ozer has been named a recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Mentor Award from the Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA).
Dr. Ozer's mentorship honor is in the mid-career category. In citing her selection, SRA commitee members noted Dr. Ozer goes "beyond mentoring to sponsoring" her mentees, creates "opportunities for mentees at all levels, from undergraduates to post-doctoral trainees, even though [her] position does not require...work with either undergraduates or post-docs," seeks out and works with "mentees of diverse backgrounds" and has established "career-long relationships with...mentees."
Dr. Ozer will be presented the Outstanding Mentor Award in April at the SRA meeting in Minneapolis.
