Video: Professor Organista Lectures at UCSF

Professor Kurt C. Organista participated in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry's Grand Rounds lecture series for clinical professionals in early January. Organista's talk on "A Structural Environmental Approach to Problem Drinking and HIV Risk in Latino Migrant Day Laborers" examines risk-taking behaviors in the context of the stressors faced by migrant day laborers -- harsh living and working conditions, economic uncertainty, distance from family -- and argues that attempts at mitigating these behaviors need to take underlying structural and situational factors into account.
