UC Berkeley has been named an Age-Friendly University, joining the global Age-Friendly University Network. This network includes institutions worldwide that are committed to expanding opportunities for lifelong learning, supporting older adults on campus, and advancing research and programs that improve the lives of aging populations.
The designation reflects Berkeley’s broader commitment to intergenerational learning, inclusive teaching, and community engagement. Programs such as the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute’s Words Over Time dialogues demonstrate the University’s ongoing efforts to foster connections across generations.
