Dr. Erin Michelle Turner Kerrison has been promoted to Associate Professor. Dr. Kerrison's research uses a legal epidemiological framework to examine how laws and structural inequities shape health outcomes, particularly among communities impacted by the criminal legal system. Focusing on the intersection of poverty, state supervision, and institutional disadvantage, her work explores effects on substance use, violence, service access, and overall health. Supported by organizations such as Arnold Ventures and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, her findings have been published in journals including Health Services Research, PNAS, and Social Science & Medicine, and she has presented at federal and state briefings to inform policy and practice.
