Video: 2017 Seabury Lecturer Karina L. Walters

Dr. Karina L. Walters served as the 2017 Berkeley Social Welfare Seabury Lecture this past spring. A professor and associate dean for research a the University of Washington School of Social Work, principal investigator for the Indiginous Wellness Research Institute and an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Dr. Walters presented an overview of the culturally centered approach to transcending historical trauma in her talk, "Iyyi Kowa ('Broken Foot'): Transcending Historical Trauma through Collective Action — The Yappalli Choctaw Road to Health Study."
