Social Welfare and GSSP Foster Ties with New Zealand Trust

On February 18, Berkeley Social Welfare Dean Jeffrey Edleson and Goldman School of Public Policy Dean Henry Brady signed Memoranda of Agreements (MOAs) with the Tauropaki Trust in Taupo, New Zealand.

In addition to bringing Trust administrators to Berkeley through GSPP's Global and Executives Programs, the hope is that the MOA will enable emerging Maori leaders to study social welfare policy and social work practice at the School of Social Welfare in both the MSW degree program and as semester-long visiting scholars. Dean Edleson also notes that there is also the possibility of sending Berkeley students to New Zealand for international field placements.

The Tauropaki Trust is one of the oldest and largest Maori trusts in New Zealand.
