Barrie Robinson is a Field Work Consultant/Lecturer
in Gerontology. Before coming to UC Berkeley, she had extensive experience
in a wide variety of agencies serving older adults including adult
day health care, nursing home ombudsman, skilled nursing, a continuing
care retirement community, and HUD senior housing. She continues to
provide consultation and training related to senior housing and is
particularly interested in relocation adjustment, community building,
and how environmental supports enhance independent functioning. Ms.
Robinson is currently participating in research with the California
Department of Health Services to develop case management standards
for the California Partnership for Long Term Care. In addition to
teaching field seminars in Gerontology, she teaches a graduate course
in social policy and aging and courses in the undergraduate welfare
group major.
