The Placement Process:

First-year placement is designed to introduce students to mainstream social work in different fields of practice and to provide basic skills of intervention. Students begin placement in mid-October at two days per week and complete approximately 50 days of placement in the first year.

Second-year placement allows for further levels of specialization and is more intensive. Students begin their placements the second week of the semester at three days per week and complete approximately 90 days of placement in the second year. In your second year, you will probably be working on a research project linked to your agency setting. Your research seminar will provide support and guidance for this work.

To view the specifics of each year's process click on the "First Year" or "Second Year" bars.
