Niveen Rizkalla

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Mack Center on Mental Health and Social Conflict

NIVEEN RIZKALLA is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Mack Center for Mental Health and Social Conflict. 

Prior to her arrival at Berkeley, Dr. Rizkalla served as director of the Haifa Ministry of Health's Mobile Clinic, where she treated women in prostitution; trained professionals and volunteers; and delivered conference lectures and provided interviews with the press on behalf of the organization.

Her research interests include women, sexual violence, PTSD, PTSD complex, couples intimacy, marital satisfaction, intimacy of victims and therapists, vicarious traumatization, secondary traumatization, Syrian victims of torture, traumatic experiences and physical and mental health of Syrian refugees and their helpers in Jordan (Middle East).
