Ms. Feliciana
was born and raised in San Francisco. She graduated from Georgetown
University with her BA in English and served as a volunteer teacher
in Chicagos Inner-City Teaching Corps program for two years.
She returned to the Bay Area to enter UC Berkeleys MSW program.
After
receiving the Title IV-E stipend and the Pupil Personnel Services
Credential (PPSC), Ms. Feliciana began her career in social work
as a child welfare worker in Alameda and then San Francisco counties.
For seven years, she worked in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District
as a school social worker and as the Coordinator of the Foster
Youth Services program. In February 2006, she was awarded the
National Heart of Social Work Award for excellence in field instruction
from the Council on Social Work Education
Ms. Feliciana
earned her administrative credential in education from Cal State
East Bay. Since 2002, she has worked as the field seminar leader
and liaison for school social work students at San Francisco State
University. As their PPSC Coordinator, she recently expanded the
credential program to include post-MSW candidates.
Ms. Feliciana
has served as a board member of the California Association of
School Social Workers for the last five years and moderates their
listserv. She also is the Board President for Beyond Emancipation,
a non-profit organization in Oakland that serves the needs of
young adults
who have aged out of the foster care system.
