Experience in the Field:

Robert Ayasse received his Masters in Social Work from U.C. Berkeley and has worked in the fields of child welfare and education for over 20 years. He has a License in Clinical Social Work, a Pupil Personnel Services Credential and extensive experience in developing school based collaborative efforts for helping the most vulnerable children and families with particular expertise in developing school support services for foster children. Prior to coming to U.C. Berkeley, Mr. Ayasse has worked as a consultant with school districts around the state and as an administrator and a school social worker in local Bay Area school districts. In his capacity as a school social worker, Mr. Ayasse established a comprehensive program of school based social support services for foster children. His work with the Foster Youth Services Program involved developing a written description of the effectiveness of the program titled: "Addressing the Needs of Foster Children: The Foster Youth Services Program," which was published in Social Work in Education, on October 1995. Mr. Ayasse has worked in runaway shelters, residential treatment, and as a case manager in child protective services and is clinically trained in outpatient family therapy and drug and alcohol counseling. Currently, Mr. Ayasse consults with various school districts and social services agencies to provide evaluation, technical assistance and oversight of grant writing services for school based and school-linked service projects. In this capacity, he has worked with schools in Fresno, Modesto, Oakland, San Francisco, and throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties on a range of school based and school linked programs.
