John F. Linder is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Assistant Clinical Professor. For the past eleven years he has worked with Hospice patients and families, as a clinical social worker and then Human Services Coordinator for UC Davis Medical Center Home Care Services. Currently John is a palliative care clinician, researcher and educator with the Department of Internal Medicine for UC Davis School of Medicine. In June of 2000, John was selected by the Project on Death in America for one of 15 Social Work Leadership Development Awards given out that year (a total or 30 nationally to date). His project is intended to enhance end-of-life care for patients and families by enhancing collaboration between social workers and faith leaders and their communities. He is an investigator on UCD’s project “Improving End-Of-Life Care for Selected Populations”, which is supported by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He also headed the research team on a National Institute on Aging grant entitled “Reducing Trauma in End-Of-Life Care."
