Scholarships for International Students

As most of the stipends listed in the fellowship section require U.S. citizenship or lawful admission for permanent residency, students from other countries will not be eligible for them. Information for other sources of funding are available at Berkeley, most notably the Scholarship Connection, an internet-based search engine for scholarships, and the International Students Website.

Also, information on scholarships for international students may be obtained from the U.S. consulates in many countries and from the publication, Study Abroad, UNESCO, Paris. This publication is available at their web site, from UNESCO sales agents in a number of countries (in the currency of the country where sold), and from UNESCO Headquarters, Place de Fontenay, Paris, France.

There are also a number of individual foundation scholarship or fellowships available via the internet, such as Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (IFP). Such information may be available at universities and other educational institutions in your country.
