Graduate Student Research (GSR) and Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) Positions

Most doctoral students serve as a graduate student researcher to a faculty member before undertaking their own dissertation research. While teaching positions are usually reserved for continuing students, research assistant positions generally have been available to all students seeking them.

Students who work 25% (10 hours a week) or more for the full semester are eligible to receive fee remissions. For more information, see: www.grad.berkeley.edu/finance.
