Careers
and Employment
While
the profession generally requires a Master of Social Welfare/Social
Work (M.S.W.) degree for clinical practice and for supervisory
or administrative social work positions, B.A. often find
careers in the areas of child welfare, developmental disabilities,
drug and alcohol abuse, family services, mental health,
public welfare, industry or business, recreation, and services
to the aged.
Graduates
often find that they have many career options because their
academic backgrounds are broad and they have developed the
writing, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills that
are highly valued by employers in a wide variety of settings.
The
Career Center, located at 2111 Bancroft Way (510-642-1716;
